PADI Open Water Diver (4 days)

During this 4 day course you will become familiar with the scuba diving equipment and develop skills for safe and enjoyable diving.

The PADI Open Water Diver certification is the world’s most widely recognised diving certification. Upon completion, you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional. Go out and experience the thrill and adventure of diving around the world!

Only in rare circumstance will we agree to complete this course in 3 days. Our goal at Watercolours is to perfom to high standards and produce quality divers. Therefore we teach this course as PADI suggests: in 4 days. To complete in less time can result in a hurried course and less competent divers.

What will I do?
Complete the 5 chapters of the PADI Open Water Manual and watch the corresponding videos.

You will go out by boat to explore the waters of our beautiful islands over 5 confined water training sessions and 4 open water dives.

What do I need to start?
Virtually anyone who is in good health (please view the medical statement) , reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can give it a go.

You must be minimum 15 years old to get the Open Water Diver certification.

If you are 10 to 14 years old you can receive the Junior Open Water Diver certification.

For children of 8 and 9 years of age please have a look at the Bubblemaker programme.

If you are already a PADI Scuba Diver you only need to complete knowledge development 4 and 5, confined water sessions 4 and 5 and 2 more Open Water dives to earn the certification (2 days).

More adventure needed? Become a PADI Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver.

What does it cost?
The cost of the Open Water Diver course is RM 1100.
This includes equipment rental, boat dives and certification.
The Scuba Diver upgrade to Open Water Diver costs RM 600 (RM 500 if you own the book)..
