The Dive Centre
We are a small dive centre and like to keep it that way for the personal touch. Although we can get very busy at times, we ensure good customer service, safety and fun. Have a look at the diving service we provide! Please don't forget to check out our Reef Check courses, which are newly introduced this season!
Our team is an international mix of PADI Instructors.
We teach in English, German, French, Flemish, Dutch and Swedish.
Our equipment is new, mostly new this season, and in very good condition. Please ask us if you would like to know anything about the diving gear we use.
We are now an Instructor only centre: All dive course and fun dives are conducted by PADI Diving Instructors. See the latest from the dive centre on our diving blog and dive photo gallery.
The Service
- See fish and not fins! We dive in small groups with a maximum of 4 divers per Instrucot;
- Unless you like to do it yourself, we set up and wash the diving equipment for you;
- You get a thorough dive briefing at the dive shop about the:
- Dive site location and formations
- Aquatic life likely to be encountered
- Dive safety and procedures
- You will love our debriefings! Once back at the dive centre after each dive we sit together over a free snack, coffee or tea and discuss the dive;
- We assist with your logbook entries by identifying the marine life we have seen and answering your questions;
- Longer dives! We plan all dives to 60 minutes unless restricted to less by the dive planning tables or wheel; and
- We match your needs! 6 (kids), 8, 10, 12 and 15 litre tanks are available. The 15 litre tanks are good for divers who prefer more air for their dive.

Environmental Care
We make our living from the environment and like to give a little back. We conduct monthly reef-clean dives and beach cleanups. Please let us know if you would like to get involved. We also conduct reef maintenance dives such as fishing-net recovery and crown-of-thorns collections (in conjunction with the Marine Park authorities).
ReefTalk
ReefTalk* is weekly presentation on the marinelife of thePerhentian Islands and
conservation issues. Entrance is free-of-charge for Watercolours customers.
* Occassionally Peter has to leave the islands for a short time. In these instances ReefTalk may be delayed for a few days.
Reef Check
In 2007, Watercolours became a Reef Check credited facility. A number of our dive staff are now Reef Check trainers, qualified to teach the Reef Check survey methodology. Please contact us to ask about this exciting way to learn about diving marine surveys and help is monitor and conserve our fragile coral reefs. See the Reef Check webpage here.
